I'm sure my co-op partner is having a great time as I watch this dialogue scene. Levelling up these equipment pieces might become exceptionally expensive but I stuck with them for a long time because they make William look very cool. I should mention that you also get some cool weapons and armour that you can claim at any shrine. Whether you're encountering the malicious Masamune Date, exploring the enormous Osaka Castle, or facing off against the powerful Yodogimi you're bound to love playing through these expansions after you complete the main campaign. To be honest, I don't personally care much for Nioh's story but its characters can be quite exciting to watch and these DLC packs definitely have some strong characters. The primary pieces of content are the story-based expansions Dragon of the North, Defiant Honor, and Bloodshed's End. The Complete Editionįor whatever reason, I skipped Nioh's DLC back when I first played it so thankfully, Nioh Remastered - The Complete Edition contains all of it. These aren't big issues at all but worth mentioning nonetheless. My only quibble is that there are some visual quirks from time to time such as rock face textures popping in as you run towards them and fighting in tight spaces can still result in awful camera placement. Needless to say, if you love Nioh then this newfangled iteration is an absolute must-play. Finally, the DualSense is used in that firing arrows and such utilizes the adaptive triggers and it feels awesome.
Why even bother having them? I wish next-gen games would just take out the loading screens entirely which some have done already trust me, I notice. For example, you load your save file then just tap X to play. Also, the load times are so fast that the loading screens are rendered completely redundant.
For starters, it looks absolutely fantastic running on a PlayStation 5 complete with a steady super-high frame rate and Ultra HD® 4K Supreme™ resolution. I'm not sure if they balanced things more or tweaked the gameplay in this way or that I just know that I had a great time and that's really all that matters, isn't it? With that being said, there are some issues that remain from the original such as the stage-based campaign setup which I still think is kind of a bummer compared to something like the massive interconnected world of the original Dark Souls. Now that I've played it again via a brand new iteration for everyone's favourite next-gen console, I must say that I had a much better experience this time around. When I first played Nioh 4 years ago, I mostly enjoyed my time with it yet it still paled in comparison to the Souls games that it clearly took much inspiration from. ?
